SERVICES: SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANCY FOR FASHION, LIFESTYLE AND CONSUMER BRANDS

Sustainability covers many topics. I help you see what matters for your brand and what to do first.

A new rule lands on your desk, a claim gets questioned, a report is due, or your board asks for a strategy. The question underneath is usually the same: what applies to us, where is our impact, and what do we do first? Each service below answers that for one part of the work, and each one ends with your team able to continue on its own.

01 · STRATEGY AND ROADMAP

Sustainability strategy

For brands that want one plan for sustainability instead of a list of loose projects. Sustainability covers many topics, each with its own rules and its own depth, and from the middle of it the whole is hard to see. I bring the overview: I map what regulations require of you and what you want to achieve as a brand, set goals you can measure, and put the steps in order. Your team knows what to do first, what is coming, and why.

With AI:  I can set up a dashboard that brings your targets and efforts into one overview, so you can show where you stand at every quarterly meeting and measure progress every year.

CAN INCLUDE

Mapping regulatory requirements
Impact and priority assessment
Goals and SMART targets
Roadmap with owners and timing
Management and team presentation

02 · MY SPECIALISM

Green claims

For brands that want to talk about their sustainability work without a claim coming back at them. I review your website, product texts, reports and campaigns against the EU Empowering Consumers Directive (EmpCo) and other rules, propose rewrites, and write the green claims guide or playbook for your company. Where it helps, I set up the claims system, so marketing, product and sales know what they can say and what has to be in place before they say it. That is the doing side of green claims: the product, the supply chain and the data that make a claim true. You get communication that holds when a customer, a journalist or a regulator checks it.

With AI:  I can set up an agent that gives your team a first check of new product texts against your claims rules. I review the rules it works from and the results it gives.

CAN INCLUDE

Claims review with rewrites

Green claims guide or playbook

Claims system and approval flow

Managing the proof behind your claims

Team training

03 · SUPPLY CHAIN

Due diligence

For brands that want to know their supply chain and reduce the human rights and environmental risks in it. Regulation asks for it more every year, and it is also what lets you prove that what you say about your supply chain is what happens there. I follow the OECD due diligence guidance: identify the risks and impacts, put methods and tools in place to manage them, reduce the negative impacts, and follow up. I can do the whole cycle or the part you are missing. You get a process your team can run, and the evidence behind what you say.

With AI:  I design workflows that collect and sort supplier information, so your team spends its time on the suppliers that need attention.

CAN INCLUDE

Supply chain mapping

Risk and impact assessment

Policies, methods and tools

Supplier engagement

Follow-up and reporting

04 · GRI CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL

Sustainability reporting

For brands that have to report, or want to, and want a report worth reading. I write your sustainability report, following the GRI Standards or in your own format, or I set up the reporting framework so your team knows what to report, how, and who owns which data. As a GRI Certified Professional I know what a good report needs, with or without the standard. You get a report that shows where you stand and tells you what to improve next.

With AI:  I use AI to prepare first drafts of standard sections from your data; every figure and every sentence is checked by me before it goes in.

CAN INCLUDE

Full report, GRI or own format

Materiality assessment

Reporting framework and data owners

Report review

Reporting training

05 · IN-COMPANY AND AT EVENTS

Training

For teams that do the sustainability work next to their own job and want to do it well. I train on green claims, strategy, reporting and due diligence, in-company or at an event, in Dutch or English, from one hour to a half day. Every training is adjusted to your market and your questions, and I break each topic down into steps that are easy to understand and to act on, with your own products and texts as the examples. You get a team that knows the rules, can apply them, and asks the right questions before something goes out.

With AI:  on request, the training includes how your team can use AI for a first check of its own work, and where the human check stays.

CAN INCLUDE

Green claims training, the most requested

Sustainability strategy for SMEs

Reporting and due diligence sessions

From one hour to a half day

Handouts for daily use

06 · IN YOUR TEAM

Interim

For companies that need a sustainability strategist in the team for a set period, starting at half a day a week. The work can be strategic, operational or a mix. Reasons vary: setting up the strategy or the systems, covering a leave, or keeping the work going while you decide on a permanent role. I work in your team, with your people and your tools, and I hand over a set-up that keeps running when I leave. You get the work done now and a team that knows how to continue it.

With AI:  while I am in your team, I can set up AI tools and workflows that fit your sustainability work, so they stay useful after the interim period.

CAN INCLUDE

Starting at half a day a week

Set period, agreed in advance

Strategic, operational or a mix

Leave cover

Handover to a permanent role

Nothing meaningful happens in sustainability until you know what matters for your brand, and what to do first.

How a project runs

Most services follow the same four steps. The size of each step depends on the project: a claims review takes days, a strategy takes months.

STEP 1

Kick-off

Big or small, we start with one session to agree what the project has to deliver, who is involved on your side, and how we work together. You leave with a plan and a planning.

STEP 2

Gathering information

I collect what I need: documents, data, texts, supplier information, and the conversations with the people who do the work. This is where most projects find out where they really stand.

STEP 3

The work, with check-ins

I do the analysis and the writing, and we check in along the way, weekly or less often, depending on the project. You see interim deliverables, so nothing is a surprise at the end.

STEP 4

Final presentation

I present the results to you and, if you want, to your management team, with the possible next steps. Then the work is yours: your team knows what to do first, and why.

Who these services are for

Brands and companies that make products, from a small label to an international group, that want to manage their impact and be able to prove it.
Fashion, lifestyle and beyond

My roots are in fashion and textiles. The rules and frameworks cross over, so I also work with consumer brands and companies in other sectors. Most clients sell in Europe or supply European brands.

What I say no to

Making a brand look further along than it is. If a claim or a report is meant to cover something rather than show it, I say so in the first call and say what I would do instead. The work I do for you has to change something, and I hold myself to that.

How pricing works

Projects and trainings run on a fixed fee for an agreed scope. Interim work runs on a half-day or day rate. Before we start you receive an offer with the scope, the deliverables, the planning and the price, and nothing changes without your agreement. Not every question needs a full project. Sometimes a strategy session or a training gives you enough direction, and I will say so.
